In
spring of 1997 Playhouse presented "The Golden Facade".
A Chinese comedy adopted by Master Tsao Yu in 1936 from an original
French play by comedy playwright Eugene Labiche. This comedy of
manners takes a light-hearted look at one family's attempt to impress
the family of their daughter's fiancé by pretending to be
what they are not. This play was performed entirely in Chinese at
3:00pm & 7:00pm on Sunday April 27, 1997 at Thompson Theater,
NC State University. Directed by Yi-Dih Cha and produced by Joyce
Wu and Anne Chang, and cast and crew of 40.
