In October 2001
Playhouse presented "A Bushel of Love" A Chinese
comedy by playwright Joyce Hsu. A family of 3 generations all tangled
in the web of love. Jia Yi, A single mom in her 40's with 2 teenagers
daughter and son, has been divorced for 5 years and now is intimately
involved with a younger man. Her ex-husband pays a surprise visit.
Some revelations tilt the balance of a love triangle. Jia Yi is
playing a matchmaker for her widower father coming from Taiwan for
a visit, but he has someone else in mind. Her 2 teenage children
also are experiencing the bittersweet taste of falling in and out
of love.
