The Triangle Area Chinese American Society (TACAS) is once again proud to present the Chinese New Year Festival at the NC State Fairgrounds on January 29, 2011, celebrating the year of the Rabbit.  This marks the 7th consecutive year that TACAS will bring out the Chinese New Year celebration in a carnival style festival format open to the entire Triangle community.

Everyone can celebrate the Chinese New Year!
 
This year we anticipate an audience of more than 5000 people.   TACAS has called upon its members' talents and resources as well as those of several other Asian American organizations to present you this wonderful celebration.  Please come and enjoy:
  • Exciting dragon and lion dances

  • Chinese folk and court dances 

  • Musical instrumental performances

  • Performances by American and other Asian groups 

  • Cultural exhibits about calligraphy, Chinese knotting, paper cutting, and tea

  • Generl exhibits of recretional, educational, servcic, media, and other natures

  • Authentic Chinese food and crafts for sale

  • Hands-on activities for all ages including origami, face-painting, games, and Chinese yo-yo lessons
