The Triangle Area Chinese American Society (TACAS) is once again proud to present the Chinese New Year Festival at the NC State Fairgrounds on January 28, 2012, celebrating the year of the Dragon.  This marks the 8th consecutive year that TACAS will bring out the Chinese New Year celebration in a carnival style festival format open to the entire Triangle community.

Come and join us for a fantastic showcase of the Triangle’s best Chinese cultural talents, including kid’s activities, performances, fashion, merchandise, and food.

Everyone can celebrate the Chinese New Year!
 
This year we anticipate an audience of more than 5000 people.   TACAS has called upon its members' talents and resources as well as those of several other Asian American organizations to present you this wonderful celebration.  Please come and enjoy:

CNYF 2012 Volunteers Needed

Chinese New Year Festival – January 28, 2012, NC State Fairgrounds Exposition Center 10am – 5pm

We are in need of enthusiastic volunteers to help make the 2012 Chinese New Year Festival a success.  The annual festival is the area’s largest Chinese New Year celebration, filled with fabulous food, merchandise, and performances.  Come help us showcase our proud cultural heritage to the Triangle!

All shift volunteers (9:30am – 1:30pm, 1pm – 5pm, 9am – 1pm, 12:30pm – 4:30pm) will receive free entry, a t-shirt, fantastic food, and also have the opportunity to help earn money to benefit a TACAS subsidiary(ies) of their choosing**, including the Book Club, Youth Group, Rainbow Club, Youth Symphony, and the Opera Group.

Please respond to volunteer@nctacas.org with your availability and t-shirt size on January 28 from 9am to 5pm as soon as possible, no later than Sunday, January 8, 2012.  If you cannot commit to an entire shift, please indicate the times that you are available.

CNYF 2012 T-shirt Design Contest‏

Volunteer T-shirt design contest – Get creative and submit a design to the TACAS Executive Board for consideration for use for the 2012 Chinese New Year Festival’s volunteer t-shirt.  Any theme will be considered, but remember that it will be the Year of the Dragon.  Design must be printable with a single paint color.  You may also suggest a t-shirt color to be used, but final color used is subject to availability at the time of order placement.  Multiple entries are acceptable.  All entries must be received by December 31, 2011, and should be submitted to president@nctacas.org.  Winner will be notified by January 7, 2012.  All decisions are final, and TACAS reserves the right to make any necessary design changes to accommodate t-shirt printing.
