2004
FCC Mid-Autumn Moon Festival Liang Li
The
Greater Raleigh FCC (Families with Children from China) Moon Festival was held
at Lake Johnson on the evening of October 2nd, 2004. The event grows larger
every year, and this year there were over 70 families signed up to participate.
Back by popular demand,
TACAS again sponsored the moon cake sampling and the "Moon Lady"
shadow puppet show. In addition, there was an interactive dance demonstration
led by Mrs. Bao-chu Chang and her dance students. Many enthusiastic kids from
the audience came down to the stage and participated in the dance moves
illustrated by Mrs. Bao-chu. After the dance, the shadow puppet team from the
TACAS Youth Group started the animated story of how a lovely princess flew to
the Moon Palace. Just when the story was getting warmed up the rain started to
fall. But because the story was so interesting that many families stayed in the
rain to watch the whole show.
All in all, it was a very nice Moon Festival and people enjoyed it. Some are even thinking about next year's event!
